Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. He's made major inroads globally into Latin pop. The 2016 smash Una Lady Como Tu was winner of the Colombian Kids Choice Award for the most popular Song in 2017. The singer released his first long-player ADN to the local Sony distributor in Medellin La Industria Inc. In the Top Latin Albums chart, it ranked no. 8. He then joined Ozuna to record the Top Five smash Vaina Loca. He released Dopamina, his chart-topping sophomore album in the year following. In 2021, he performed in a duet with TINI for her hit online track Maldita Foto. In 2023, 2000 with the smash hit La Bachata was released. Turizo was born into a household of music his mother and older brother have been musicians. In interviews, he referred to the importance of music as a requirement. In his childhood he was instructed to perform on the guitar, piano and the ukulele. Although his first choice of career was becoming a vet, the brother Julian convinced him to take lessons in singing with the help of a Cuban teacher. The end outcome of discovering his talents as a performer changed the direction of his life.
