Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson is Mexican-born musician born into a musical family. As a child, she was exposed to a lot of traditional music as well as older boleros. Also, she listened to the traditional romance ballads as well as ranchero. Ana enjoys tangos and the dramatic and opera performances. When she was a child, her mother would sing with her at the age of 12, she took up more rigorous singing lessons at the age of 16 under the guidance by renowned Mexican tenor FlavioBecerra. In the School of Music of Guadalajara University as well as the School of Sacred Music of Toluca in Mexico kept her in the music field. When she was a student, and a young professional, she was a part of many chamber groups and opera choruses throughout Guadalajara as well as Mexico City. After relocating into California in United States in 2000, she joined the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus before making the move to her current residence in southern California. She is currently a member of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and is a frequent solo performer of the traditional Latin American music at private occasions. Ana is involved in a variety of local projects in both teaching and performer because of her enthusiasm for art and music. Ana was also an active member of the Community Chorus of Redlands as well as the Inland Master Chorale and Performance Loft. Ana finds it a privilege to be able to bring to others her passion for traditional Latin American music. She hopes to help younger generations keep the tradition alive.
